On March 31 we trialed the use of a fitness gym to set initial rewards for the game, in the form of Hunting Lodge Suns. One of the things we discovered is that being tall is _quite_ the advantage in Bouldering/Rock Climbing, so maybe we won’t do that again. Maybe Straight Rock Climbing or “Speed Climbs” would work better.

We’ve decided where to base our game in-world, which is the Valleymeet Hunting Grounds, however, the character associated with the Ground might have to be changed as they might be unlikeable.

“You can always come back but please don’t.”―Valleymeet Keeper

This was solved on 07/4/19 by the Director/Writer Rebecca Hurd by the group agreeing having the game set 10 years in the future which will give the players more space and lead to potentially a larger political tool.

The Culture of Making Things

One of the players (Lillian — 31/03/19) gave the feedback that we could embrace cultures of weaving and making as methods of embracing those collectivizing cultures and activities. The big suggestions is that we focus on reusing old cables and wires.

She’s also volunteered to make the safety documents, as she’s been playing is wide variety of games (Like Clans of Elgardt, Battlecry — which is more a battle and tactics game) and we’ve added the Reenactor’s Insurance safety documents.

Tall

Okay, so Bouldering/Golf as a Trial doesn’t really work, because it actively advantages taller players. So, yeah.

Lillian has suggested Sprint Climbing instead, or High Ropes courses instead, in a few months when we have new players.

One of the players (Victoria Connelly) who has yet to be able to attend has started working on designing and 3D printing achievement badges out of either recycled plastics or PLA (plasic partially based on corn starch)

Characterization

We didn’t really get much in the way of characterisation from the rock climbing/character generation session, as it was mostly backgrounding stry design, but we did get three characters started in Session 1(one from each of the main tribes). We’ve started a portal to keep track of things here but there’s nothing really up there yet.

Regarding the Non-Confident Testing Plan

So I’m doing non-confident testing with Nolan Chow, who’s never LARPed before, and comes from a film background. He’s been playing with his 3D Camera (the photos are on Facebook but don’t export/embed easily).
